Our History
Faith Apostolic Church began in 1969 when Bishop Heron and Lady Zholia Johnson obeyed the call of God, moved from Flint, MI to Birmingham, AL and accepted the pastorate of Emmanuel Temple Holiness Church. It was a journey of faith .  The church was later named Faith Apostolic Church (FAC).

Our Church
FAC is a loving, family oriented church that provides ministry to the whole man – spirit, soul, and body through various outlets of teachings and programs.

Our Assignment
We share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the lost. We develop and train believers to live victoriously.  We strengthen and equip believers to impact their generation with pure anointing that changes lives.

Our Leader
Suffragan Bishop Michael Bender is the Senior Pastor of Faith Apostolic Church. He pastors one church with two locations, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa. A man given to prayer and fasting. Pastor Bender’s ministry is marked by a Davidic anointing of praise and worship coupled with revelatory teaching and preaching that compels the soul to seek a deeper walk with Christ. His passion is to see believers grow spiritually and to win the lost to Christ.

Mentored by his Apostolic father, Bishop Heron Johnson, the founder of Faith Apostolic Church, Pastor Bender builds on the spiritual foundation of  faith  already set.  With more than 20 years ministry experience, he humbly serves God’s people. He  and he and his wife, Lady Betty Bender- powerful psalmist and intercessor, serve in ministry together.  Pastor Bender is  admired, supported  and firmly rooted in family.

our belief

Bible
The bible is the divinely inspired Word of God. (2 Tim 3:16)

One God
There is one God. He manifested himself in flesh as Jesus Christ, He revealed Himself as the Father, and as the Holy Ghost. (Dt 6:4; Jn 1:1-5,14; Jn 10:30; Jn 14:9,16; 2Cor 5:19)

Salvation
All have sinned and need salvation. (Rm 3:23)  We are saved by grace through faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. (Eph 2:8) Repentance and Baptism in water in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance  is essential and constitutes the new birth. (Acts 2:38, John 3:18, Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-48 and Acts 19:1-7)

Healing
Divine healing is available to all believers and has been provided through Jesus Christ. (2Pt 2:24)

Communion
Holy communion,  the Lord’s supper, should be observed as well as foot wash as Jesus taught. (I Cor 11:24-26; Jn 13:1-9, 13:14)

Sanctification
Sanctification is the will of God for all believers through obedience to the Word of God . (Heb 10:9-10)

Resurrection
There will be a resurrection of the dead for both the just and unjust.  The just to the resurrection of life, the unjust to the resurrection of damnation. (Acts 24:15)

Rapture
The Lord Jesus Christ will  return and catch away those who are born again in the clouds of glory to forever reign with him  (I Cor. 1:23-31;  I Thes 4:13-18)
