Hebrews 13:17 “ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
THE SHEEP AND THE SHEPHERD
All members of God’s flock are in need of care and direction. God has graced our leaders with the great task of caring for the sheep. God’s expectations of us as sheep are to obey and submit to those whom he has placed in authority. We are to obey and submit with no hidden agenda, for there are many that are obedient only to fulfill their own selfish desires. If we take this scripture to heart, our spiritual leaders can report to God joyfully on our behalf, and in return God will be glorified that we as sheep are growing in the grace and knowledge of the Savior according to 2 Peter 3:18.
