Dec 26 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: LIGHTING THE WAY

Colossians 3:10 And have put on the new man which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”

“Image” in the scripture referenced above means representation or resemblance.  We are the visible representation of Him in body, soul, spirit and moral character.  We are the reflection of Christ, not only in the church, but in the world.  Matthew 5:14 states, “Ye are the light of the world” and verse 16 tells us to “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

Therefore, since He is the light and the light is in us, we must let our light shine that He may be glorified for “nothing can dim the light which shines from within!”

Dec 25 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: BE WISE, HEAR, AND INCREASE LEARNING

Dec 25 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: BE WISE, HEAR, AND INCREASE LEARNING

Proverbs 15:1 “A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”

In light of the pandemic, there are many changes to our grocery shopping, doctor visits, and church attendance.  We have had to make adjustments to our routines which can prove to be taxing for the believer and others around us.  As saints of God, remember that a soft answer turns away wrath (fury, annoyance, outrage, etc).  Grievous words stir up anger.  Let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Dec 24 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: CAST YOUR CARES ON JESUS

Dec 24 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: CAST YOUR CARES ON JESUS

Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

The Bible says that if you humble yourself, God will exalt you in His time.  Humility means to bring yourself low.  Wouldn’t it be easier to bring yourself low if you have released all the weights and cares of this life?  The presence of worry/anxiety means feeding into fear and the absence of worry/anxiety means feeding into faith in God.  Today, challenge yourself to spend the time God is allowing you on earth to feed your faith so that you can cast (throw forcefully) your cares on Him.

Dec 23 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: DON’T GIVE UP TOO EARLY!

Dec 23 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: DON’T GIVE UP TOO EARLY!

Hebrews 10:36 “For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.”

Saints, in case no one has told you, your ability to focus on the spiritual tasks that are before you have not gone unnoticed!  We have watched you sing, pray and praise the Lord before and during these troubling, difficult times.  Hebrews 10:36 tells us to have patience and to do the will of God to receive the promises that He has prepared for us.  Your patience, zeal and ability to focus on His will is a winning combination in the natural and spiritual realms!  My aim herein is to encourage each of you to stay spiritually focused until you receive the promises that God has prepared for you!

Dec 22 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: TO BE MORE LIKE CHRIST

Dec 22 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: TO BE MORE LIKE CHRIST

Proverbs 15:18 “A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.”

Christ forgives us of our transgressions and sins daily, never withholding His grace or love despite our shortcomings.  We tend to sometimes allow flesh to take over and hold grudges, become angry, and sometimes seek revenge.  However, we should strive to be more like Christ and forgive others like Christ forgives us.  We should show love instead of anger and seek peace in the midst of confusion.  If we anchor ourselves in Christ, making every effort to display Christ-like behavior, we will be more like Him!

Dec 21 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: WAKE UP

Dec 21 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: WAKE UP

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

It’s easy to be fearful when things aren’t going well or when we are faced with challenges and conflict in our lives.  In the midst of this pandemic along with everything else going on in this world, God is telling His people to wake up and recognize who’s in control.  If we seek and trust God, He will heal our land and get the glory.

Dec 20 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: IN THE TRENCHES WITH JESUS

Dec 20 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: IN THE TRENCHES WITH JESUS

Psalm 37:7 “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.”

“…When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him” (Isaiah 59:19).  No matter what the problem, the situation, or the circumstance, you want to be in the trenches with Jesus.  He has your front, back, and all points covered.  Don’t wrestle with the problem any longer, give it to God.  He will make you upright and in right standing with Him.

Dec 19 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: LIGHT IN THE MIDST OF DARKNESS

Dec 19 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: LIGHT IN THE MIDST OF DARKNESS

Colossians 3:12 “Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;”

As God’s chosen ones, we must remember that we are the light of the world and our light is brightened by the One who spoke light into existence.  We are sons and daughters of the King of kings.  Our royal bloodline not only exudes with light but with kindness of heart, humility, gentleness, and patience.  People often say, “The devil can’t steal my joy.”  however we can also say that during this time of darkness we will not let our light of love and kindness be stolen. Our light will continue to shine bright until our assignment of saving the world is complete.

Dec 18 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: YOU LIVE TO DIE AND DIE TO LIVE

Dec 18 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: YOU LIVE TO DIE AND DIE TO LIVE

Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Coming to life with Jesus can oftentimes be uncomfortable or even hurt.  But as the Word of God transforms our minds daily, we can be both righteous and victorious.  To turn from a life of sin and shame and then walk in the newness of life with Jesus is a new experience.  This new walk is called Holiness.

Dec 17 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: DO NOT BE MOVED

Dec 17 ~ WALKING LIKE GOD: DO NOT BE MOVED

Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

The word of the Lord instructs us to not be weary or faint in our well doing for Him. This means that there will be times when weariness and “giving up” will arrive with its plans to overtake us and cause us to want to quit.  But 1 Cor. 15:58 says for us to be steadfast and unmoveable for our labor is not in vain.  So, don’t depend on yourself and your own strength, rely on the help of the Lord that is ever present.  If you trust and lean unto Him, fainting will not be your portion, but strength and power!
