June 29 ~ PERFECT PEACE: HEAVEN BOUND PEACE

Hebrews 12:14 ~ “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”

PERFECT PEACE: HEAVEN BOUND PEACE

As we pray and desire righteousness, God so graciously fills us with His love, peace, and joy.  As we love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind, He gives each of us the ability to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Brothers and sisters, in these uncertain times,“men’s hearts are failing them for fear” (Luke 21:26), but let us be encouraged to trust God to fill us with His peace as we keep our minds stayed on Him.  This is the peace that will take us to heaven.

June 28 ~ PERFECT PEACE: BE A PEACE-CHASER

Psalm 34:14 ~ “Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.”

PERFECT PEACE: BE A PEACE-CHASER

In the midst of these unfortunate events in our world today, we still must remember that holiness is a requirement.  Be willing today to resist sin and turn away from anything that is not in the will of God.  Keep your mind on Him (who is Peace), and chase after Him.  Delight yourself in the Lord, focus your thoughts toward abiding in His presence, and sing praises unto Him.  Your praise will lift up your spirit, and there you will find peace.

June 27 ~ PERFECT PEACE: GOING THROUGH THE PANDEMIC GRACEFULLY

Philippians 4:9 ~ “Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do:  and the God of peace shall be with you.”

PERFECT PEACE: GOING THROUGH THE PANDEMIC GRACEFULLY

Perfect peace is only achieved through much prayer, fasting, and studying God’s Word.  These are the fundamentals that will keep us equipped to gracefully handle anything that comes our way in any crisis or pandemic.  Like Paul encouraged the Philippian church to do what they had been taught, let’s continue to do what our Bishop Johnson, and Bishop Bender now instills in us.  With this new day that the Lord has given, let’s read a few extra verses of scripture and add a few more minutes in prayer.  As we do these things by faith, believe that “the God of peace shall be with you.”

June 26 ~ PERFECT PEACE: BY YOURSELF, BUT NEVER ALONE

Psalm 23:1-2 ~ “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:  he leadeth me beside the still waters.”

PERFECT PEACE: THE TRUE SOURCE OF PEACE

“When you’re by yourself, you are still not alone.”  These words from our Pastor mean more to us now because of social distancing.  The Lord is our Shepherd, our Peace, and our Provider whether we’re one among many in a crowd or an audience of one at home.  Let’s be careful to stay within the boundaries the Good Shepherd has created for us by reading the Word of God, fasting, praying, listening, and obeying our Pastor’s voice, as he is the Under-shepherd.  Danger awaits when we veer off the path set before us or when we give ear to the voice of a stranger, but green pastures and still waters belong to the sheep whose ears remain attentive to the Good Shepherd’s call.

June 25 ~ PERFECT PEACE: THE TRUE SOURCE OF PEACE

Psalm 37:37 ~ “Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright:  for the end of that man is peace.”

PERFECT PEACE: THE TRUE SOURCE OF PEACE

Pictures of movie stars, singers, and pro-athletes line billboards in cities across the world, and many adoring fans follow their every move on Facebook and Instagram.  Yet, several of these celebrities and their fans share a secret:  264 million people in the world suffer from depression.  The world cannot offer peace, for it can only be found in God; He is the true source of peace.  If you desire to have a good life, both now and in the future, watch the actions of the upright.  Celebrity status and worldliness are temporal, but holy living and integrity will yield peace and joy on earth with eternal reward.

June 24 ~ PERFECT PEACE: THE KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS BRINGS PEACE

2 Peter 1:2 ~ “Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord.”

PERFECT PEACE: THE KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS BRINGS PEACE

Can you see Jesus beyond the babe in a manger, the carpenter’s son, or just one of the prophets?  While many in Jesus’ day chose to limit Him in their minds to just a man, the Apostle Peter through divine revelation, knew who Jesus was (Matthew 16:17).  He explained that grace and peace are multiplied through the knowledge of Jesus Christ.  We learn more and more about the Peacegiver when we learn how to approach Jesus.  Lazarus’ sister, Mary, demonstrated that in moments of grief and pain, perfect peace begins at the feet of Jesus.  (John 11: 32)

June 23 ~ PERFECT PEACE: DON’T LET EVIL CONQUER YOU!

Ephesians 3:10-11 ~ “For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:  let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.”

PERFECT PEACE: DON’T LET EVIL CONQUER YOU!

You don’t have Jesus walking beside you in physical form, but you do have His Word to lead and guide you every step of the way to build a solid foundation.  Don’t let evil conquer you, but conquer evil by doing good.  Make a genuine effort today to strive for peace as you interact with family, friends, and even your enemies.  Keep your eyes on the prize which is eternal life with God.

June 22 ~ PERFECT PEACE: DO NOT FEAR: JESUS IS IN CONTROL

Psalm 46:10 ~ “Be still and know that I am God:  I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.”

PERFECT PEACE: DO NOT FEAR: JESUS IS IN CONTROL

During these times, we know that God is our perfect peace.   We are secure and stable under the blood of Jesus!  Jesus is in control of everything.  The Lord gives us His peace.  Let not our hearts be troubled, neither let us be afraid (John 14:27).

June 21 ~ PERFECT PEACE: GOD’S PEACE CANCELS CONFUSION

I Corinthians 14:33 ~ “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.”

PERFECT PEACE: GOD’S PEACE CANCELS CONFUSION

If we are not careful, feelings of strife, contention, and confusion can creep in among members of the Body of Christ.  Our minds could slip into a dangerous place of not forgiving and being bitter.  The scripture teaches us that God does not author confusion, but peace!  Don’t allow the flesh to cause you to lose your focus or cool and shift blame on your brothers and sisters.  Instead, allow the God of peace to give you words of wisdom seasoned with kindness.

June 20 ~ PERFECT PEACE: WE ARE SHELTERED IN PLACE

Romans 14:17 ~ “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

PERFECT PEACE: WE ARE SHELTERED IN PLACE
Christ alone, through his finished work on the Cross, is the true source of our righteousness, peace and joy. God, by His divine power, has already given us everything we need to live righteously and victoriously, including an endless flow of Living Water and an abundant supply of the Bread of Life.  We are thus clothed in the righteousness of Christ through the Holy Ghost.  For now, “social distancing” may have us separated from each other bodily, but our perfect peace and inspiration come from knowing we are sheltered together in spirit in the secret place of the Most High.  We give glory to God because we are protected from perils and pestilences both seen and unseen!!
