April 20 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  SIMPLY BELIEVE AND RECEIVE

April 20 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  SIMPLY BELIEVE AND RECEIVE

Acts 2:41 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized:  and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”

Recent months have presented many challenges and limitations in our places of employment and even in our places of worship.  But despite these challenges and limitations, God’s Word and Spirit continued to be poured out.  I admonish you today that even if you are experiencing challenges and limitations, right where you are: stop, believe, and receive His Word.  Receive His Word just as they did on the day of Pentecost.  You can experience the washing away of your sins through the baptism in the name of Jesus and the Spirit of God can pour in and then out of you.

April 19 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  JOINING GOD’S HOLY FAMILY

April 19 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  JOINING GOD’S HOLY FAMILY

Romans 8:15 “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.”

Accepting the Spirit of God gives us unlimited privileges.  We are no longer slaves of this world.  We are the children of God through acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  A true child of God understands that the best benefit is having eternal life.  Build your hope on things eternal.

April 18 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  STAY SENSITIVE

April 18 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  STAY SENSITIVE

Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

When we’re filled with the Holy Ghost, it comes with a sensitivity to the voice and leading of the Lord.  Over time, if we allow distractions and junk to reside in our spirit, the sensitivity is less keen.  When it was once easy to hear the Lord, it’s now harder and things that were once convictions, don’t bother you anymore.  Many have become desensitized during these last days and have allowed carnality to creep into their lives, making it much easier for Satan to attack us and much easier to give into the flesh.  But as the children of the Lord, we want to stay close to Him so that we’ll always be able to feel Him, Hear him, and be lead by Him; stay sensitive.

April 17 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  LOVE THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST

April 17 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  LOVE THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST

Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

Any saint that professes to be Holy Ghost filled, fire-baptized should have experienced the quickening of the Holy Ghost to your mortal body.  The initial evidence of the Holy Ghost is speaking with other tongues, as the Spirit gives the words to say. (Acts 2:4)

April 16 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT: AN INVITATION TO FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS

April 16 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  AN INVITATION TO FALL IN LOVE WITH JESUS

John 15:9 “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.”

Many poems and songs have been written about the love of Jesus.  Poets like Helen Steiner Rice and song writers such as Kirk Whalum who wrote, “Falling In Love With Jesus,” have used their gifts and talents to express how much they love Jesus.  You see the best thing that could ever happen to you is to fall in love with Jesus.

April 15 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  EQUIPPED TO WIN AGAINST SIN

April 15 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  EQUIPPED TO WIN AGAINST SIN

Romans 8:2-3 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:”

When we are born again of the water and of the Spirit, we enter a new dimension of living.  The Spirit (law of the Spirit of life) is constantly warring against the flesh (law of sin and death), and the flesh against the Spirit.  As born again believers, we have power to overcome the flesh, the devil, and the world through the outpouring of the Holy Ghost in our hearts.  Let us walk in victory as the power of the Holy Ghost equips us to have strength to fight against SIN and WIN!

April 14 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  THE POWER OF GOD TO CHANGE YOU

April 14 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  THE POWER OF GOD TO CHANGE YOU

Romans 8:1 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

Walking after the Spirit and not after the flesh is an area every saint must master to live an overcoming life.  You walk after the Spirit when you simply yield your will (fleshy desire) to God’s will.  We have little conflict in recognizing the LORD (Jehovah) as the self-existing Almighty God who made the heavens, earth, you and me.  We must also recognize Him as Lord (Master, Sovereign) over us.  The new birth experience and our yielding to God’s will allow us to walk after the Spirit and become new creatures in the Lord Christ Jesus.

April 13 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT: REPENTANCE

April 13 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  REPENTANCE

Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Peter was pleading with God’s people to repent.  He stressed that everyone needs to ask for forgiveness of their sins. Repentance involves a complete and irreversible change of mind, heart, and actions.  Repentance recognizes that our sins are offensive to God.  Except a man be born of the water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into God’s kingdom (John 3:5).

April 12 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  THE SPIRIT IS STILL BEING POURED OUT

April 12 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  THE SPIRIT IS STILL BEING POURED OUT

Acts 2:4 “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

The Holy Ghost is still here for those who seek Him; it’s up to the Spirit-filled saints to get on our jobs by telling others about Jesus and the Holy Ghost.  There are those who want the Lord in their lives.  They want to know the truth of God’s Word in Acts 1:8, Acts 2:4, and Acts 2:38.  They want to know about the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.  Remember, someone had to tell us.

April 11 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  THE COMFORT WE HAVE IN THE HOLY GHOST

April 11 WHEN THE SPIRIT WAS POURED OUT:  THE COMFORT WE HAVE IN THE HOLY GHOST

John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”

The active (verb) meaning of the word comfort is to ease the grief or distress of; console.  Jesus let the disciples know His time on earth was coming to an end, but promised that the Comforter, the Holy Ghost, was being sent by the Father in His name.  Jesus said the Holy Ghost would teach them all things (whatsoever things Jesus said) and this was for their edification and understanding.  Jesus also said the Holy Ghost would bring all things to their remembrance (whatsoever things Jesus said).  It is comforting to know that no matter what we go through, like the disciples, we have the Holy Ghost to teach us or reveal to us what we need to understand, and also to remind us of the exact word we need to remember in our times of suffering.
