May 20 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  DON’T FORGET!

May 20 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  DON’T FORGET!

Proverbs 3:1 “My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:”

I’m reminded of the scripture in Psalm 119:11 that says, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”  It is important to hide the word in our hearts because it’s always there when we need it.  When we hide or keep it there, it will be hard for us to forget it.  It is God’s desire that we obey His Law and walk by the Word.  In order to do that, we have to study our Word and allow it to get into our hearts, then we won’t forget it when we need it the most.

May 19 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: MEDITATING ON THE WORD

May 19 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: MEDITATING ON THE WORD

Psalm 1:1-2 “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

It’s imperative that the saint of God not give ear to unwise, ungodly counsel.  Why?  It can not only distort what you’ve been taught, (the truth of God’s Word) but it can also disrupt your relationship with God.  We are to be so in enamored with the Word until it’s what we think and meditate on all throughout the day.  When a saint of God reaches this point, it becomes very difficult for Satan or anyone to deceive you into moving away from the Truth.

May 18 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THERE IS HOPE IN TRUTH

May 18 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THERE IS HOPE IN TRUTH

Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:”

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever” (Hebrews 13:8).  He will never leave you nor forsake you. Always build your life on the solid foundation of truth and love.  Stay with Jesus and you will always have something that works!!!  He is a protector and comforter – stay with your hope and keep happiness.

May 17 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: DAILY OPEN BOOK TESTS

May 17 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: DAILY OPEN BOOK TESTS

Psalm 19:7 “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.”

Staying with the truth allows us as saints to rest comfortably in Christ. The Word has been tried and proven. Each test that we face in this life is an open book exam. The answers to the test are in the Word of God. When we open the Word and apply it to our lives, we’re guaranteed to PASS and WIN!!

May 16 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  STAND STRONG

May 16 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  STAND STRONG

2 Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.”

Preaching the Word is not only a minister delivering a sermon, but it is also earnestly advocating the Gospel by living holy.  Living a holy life at all times (not just when it’s convenient) can preach the Word, reprove, and rebuke.  We must not become discouraged if others do not want to hear.  Be encouraged and stand strong until Jesus comes.

May 15 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: HOLD TO THE TRUTH!

May 15 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  HOLD TO THE TRUTH!

Proverbs 3:3 “Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:”

Hebrews 12:1 speaks about laying aside every weight and the sin that easily beset us.  Now is not the time to allow our flesh to take us out of the will of God.  We MUST hold on to Jesus and trust Him in these very trying last days. It is in these trying times that the TRUTH of God is what will keep us.

May 14 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  WHERE IS YOUR MIND???

May 14 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  WHERE IS YOUR MIND???

Philippians 2:5 “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”

As saints, we should strive daily to love others like Jesus loves, walk like He walks, think like He thinks, etc.  Our very conversation should be one that glorifies God.  To have the mind of Christ is to put away selfish thinking, pride, and giving up our own agendas so that God can get the glory!  It is humbling ourselves and serving others without reserve. Doing an honest self-evaluation is a great way to assess where your mind is.

May 13 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: SET APART FOR GOOD USE

May 13 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  SET APART FOR GOOD USE

John 17:17 “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”

As avid students of the Word of God, we come to know that to sanctify means to consecrate, set apart for sacred service or make holy.  The Word of God is like a mirror which captures the very essence of who we are at the core and reflects the truth of that image back to the person, causing the heart to be penetrated and renewed.  This cleansing process helps the believer be ready for good use.

May 12 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: BEING FAITHFUL

May 12 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  BEING FAITHFUL

Ephesians 4:5 “One Lord, one faith, one baptism,”

Sin will separate us from God who is Lord.  We must be desperate, determined, and faithful to Jesus for He will deliver us!  We must be faithful and true to Jesus.  Man has no choice on how he comes into the world, but he has a choice on how he shall leave it.  We must hold fast to Jesus because Jesus is faithful and true.

May 11 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: DON’T FORGET YOUR KEYS!

May 11 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  DON’T FORGET YOUR KEYS!

Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

This scripture holds a wealth of thought about key scriptures pertaining to salvation.  In Matthew 16:19, Jesus tells Peter, “I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven.”  In Revelation 1:18, Jesus declares of Himself, “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore; Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”  We stand on the scripture that Jesus purchased the Church with His blood, we were buried with Him by baptism, and believe there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved.  Saints of God, with turmoil everywhere we look in this world, the Holy Ghost is our Key to righteous living and I encourage you to stay with the Truth.
