May 10 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: THE HOLY SPIRIT

May 10 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THE HOLY SPIRIT

I John 4:1 “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”

In this scripture John warns the Christians in the Church to be aware of the spirit of false prophets and false teachers that are not of the Spirit of God.  1 Thessalonians 5:21 tells us to “Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.”  The Holy Spirit bears witness to the Word of God.  It is our Paraclete! Saints of God, continue to be steadfast, pray, and fast while the Holy Spirit leads and guides us into all truth.

May 9 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: HOLDING ON TO THE FAITH

May 9 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  HOLDING ON TO THE FAITH

Psalm 119:11 “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

In these last and evil days with all that’s happening, it’s easy to let the mind drift, but we have to remember God’s Word and stay with the truth. It is written, “And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world (Matthew 28:20).” That’s why it’s important to study the Word. When all else fails, we can proclaim that “Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you.”

May 8 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH: TRIED AND TRUE

May 8 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  TRIED AND TRUE

2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

Tried and true denotes something that has been proven in the past to be effective or reliable.  For centuries intellectuals near and far have tried to “debunk” the Bible.  They’ve even persuaded millions of people to question the credibility of the Word of God, but we know not by word of mouth, but from experience that God’s Word is true.  We’ve seen what was written in scripture manifest in our very own lives.  People will continue to refute the Word of God until Jesus returns, but we know his Word to be true because we’ve tried it for ourselves.

May 7 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  TOO MUCH INVESTED

May 7 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  TOO MUCH INVESTED

Psalm 119:10 “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.”

Let us remain committed to seeking the Lord daily, hiding His words in our hearts and allowing them to be our anchor. We must continually and consistently stand strong on the Word of the Lord so that when adversities come, we are unshakable in our faith.  When our faith begins to waiver, we become unstable and vulnerable to temptation.  As the saints of God, we have too much invested to wander from His commandments.  Seeking Him first will allow you to stay in truth!

May 6 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE!

May 6 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE!

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

To stay in truth is to stay in the Word of God.  Jesus said to those Jews which believed on him, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31-32). The truth of God’s Word will quicken your spirit and in this context “quicken” means to be made alive.  Staying in God’s Word will both give you life and sustain your life.  So, stay in the Word of God and you will not depart from truth.

May 5 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  TRUTH=FREE

May 5 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  TRUTH=FREE

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

God’s Word is truth and His Truth shall set you free!  It will lead you to salvation and teach you how to live right. There are many doctrines in the world that are not the truth of God.  If you ever stray away from God’s truth, you will lose the most valuable thing in life, Salvation!  So please stay in the Word, and the truth shall set you free!

May 4 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  I AM THE TRUTH

May 4 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  I AM THE TRUTH

John 3:35 “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”

Genesis 1 and St. John 1:1 both reference that in the beginning was God! Believing in these few words is the only way we can get to Heaven.  St. John 14:6 says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Our only choice is to stay with Jesus (the only TRUTH) if we want to get to Heaven.

May 3 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THE TRUTH IS OUR GUIDE

May 3 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THE TRUTH IS OUR GUIDE

Philippians 4:7 “And the peace of God which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

By opening up your heart and mind to the Word of God, you will have the peace you need to love without thought or reason, the peace to care for your brother and sister without a question.  Romans 8:37 says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

May 2 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE OF GOD

May 2 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  THE UNCONDITIONAL LOVE OF GOD

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

God’s love for us is so strong and unconditional.  His will is that we all survive and not perish.  The blood of Jesus, God’s only son, was the greatest sacrifice that was made.  We must first believe in Him.

May 1 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  STAY WITHIN GOD’S PARAMETERS

May 1 STAYING WITH THE TRUTH:  STAY WITHIN GOD’S PARAMETERS

I Timothy 4:2 “Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;”

Paul admonishes Timothy to be on alert for those who speak lies in hypocrisy, for these people will ruin your very soul if you allow them access.  A lie is when you outright intend to deceive for the purpose of creating a deliberate advantage for yourself.  Men now will express, look, or even live a lie just to deceive you; God only deals with what is true.  The saint’s desire should never be to go the easy or deceptive route.  God will help us but He wants us to stay in the parameters that He has created for us.
