Nov 26 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE

Nov 26 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  ASK AND YE SHALL RECEIVE

Matthew 6:6 “But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.”

Sometime ago, I prayed to the Lord to send me someone with whom I could spend the rest of my life.  Little did I know at the time, my wife was praying the same prayer.  In 1978, the Lord blessed me with my wife.  I prayed to the Lord in secret and He rewarded me openly.  “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD” (Proverbs 18:22).

Nov 25 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  JUST ASK

Nov 25 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  JUST ASK

James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

At some point in our lives, we have been put in a position of not knowing how to respond or handle life’s challenges.  In such instances, we must look into the perfect law of liberty which is the Word of God.  The scripture says, “Ask and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”  Everyone that asks receives, to him that seeks finds and him that knocks, it shall be open (Matthew 7:7-8).  Today, rather than carrying the burden of trying to figure out the unknowns of life’s challenges, let’s ask God for wisdom and look for Him to tell us what to do; His wisdom is the perfect solution.

Nov 24 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  DO YOU KNOW GOD?

Nov 24 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  DO YOU KNOW GOD?

Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

When we really trust the Lord, we know that He hears us and is attentive to our needs.  Faith is trust in God-“the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1).  When I was seeking the Holy Ghost, I had to come to the conclusion that God really hears me; this activated my faith and I received.  Do you know the Lord; does He know you?  What can you receive by knowing the God who hears?

Nov 23 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  KNOW YOUR GOD

Nov 23 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  KNOW YOUR GOD

Psalm 91:15 “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.”

In order to know a person, you must spend some time with the person.  You must gather information about them.  You can even talk to people who hang around them.  If you want to know God, do these things:  read your Bible, spend time in prayer talking to God, go to church, and even listen to testimonies of other saints who walk with God.  You will find out that God not only hears, but He sees everything.

Nov 22 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  KEEP PRAYING AND BELIEVING

Nov 22 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  KEEP PRAYING AND BELIEVING

Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

Throughout my life, I often felt like I was unworthy of certain things.   Instead of talking to God about the emotions I felt inside, I would broadcast most of my concerns to others, looking for answers from them.  But one day, I attended the Prayer Clinic by Bishop Clifton Jones.  Attending the Prayer Clinic taught me how valuable it is to make my petitions known to God and that He understands all my desires.  Today, let Mark 11:24 give you the faith you need to continue to pray and believe God.

Nov 21 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  PROMISE KEEPER

Nov 21 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  PROMISE KEEPER

Luke 11:9 “And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Jesus taught His disciples to pray.  This lets us know that He desires for us to pray to Him.  Prayer helps us stay connected to God.  God promises us in Luke 11:9 that if we ask, seek, and knock, He will deliver.  Take comfort in knowing that God is a promise keeper and His word never fails.

Nov 20 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  GOD WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU

Nov 20 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  GOD WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU

Romans 8:26 “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

In life, we are going to experience an unexpected event, a twist or turn, sickness or pain.  Events like these can make us fragile and vulnerable.  When things start to spin out of control and you don’t know which way to go, I recommend Jesus-the Advocate-to whom you can call on day or night.  I guarantee, you will not get a busy signal or be told that His number is no longer in service.  Give Jesus the opportunity to meet your needs and watch Him work on your behalf.

Nov 19 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  IS YOUR CONFESSION FROM YOUR LIPS OR FROM YOUR HEART?

Nov 19 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  IS YOUR CONFESSION FROM YOUR LIPS OR FROM YOUR HEART?

I John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

As Acts 2:38 reveals to us, the Lord desires more than lip service.  He desires action to follow true confession and godly sorrow.  Psalms 62:8 says, “Trust in Him at all times: ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us.”  As we confess our sins, open our hearts before Him, and trust Him to be our refuge, I John 2:2 assures us that, “He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the  whole world.”  JESUS is the ONLY satisfactory sin- substitute!!

Nov 18 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  GOD DOES HEAR YOUR CRY!

Nov 18 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  GOD DOES HEAR YOUR CRY!

Psalm 4:3 “But know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the Lord will hear when I call unto him.”

Have you ever felt like no one would listen?  It can make you feel unappreciated and under-valued.  But as saints of God, we have the blessed assurance that He sees and hears us.  The old song says, “I love the Lord because He heard my cry.”  My brother and sister, don’t think God doesn’t hear, for He loves to hear the voice of His child.

Nov 17 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  THE LORD NEITHER SLUMBERS NOR SLEEPS

Nov 17 ~ KNOWING THE GOD WHO HEARS:  THE LORD NEITHER SLUMBERS NOR SLEEPS

Proverbs 15:29 “The Lord is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.”

The Lord is far from the wicked and the sinner.  But the prayer of the righteous he hears.  He is keeping his eye on the good and evil.
