FEBRUARY 19~CELEBRATING GOD’S CHOSEN VESSELS FOR HIS PURPOSE AND DIRECTION

FEBRUARY 19~CELEBRATING GOD’S CHOSEN VESSELS FOR HIS PURPOSE AND DIRECTION

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them:  for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

STRONGER THAN EVER

This scripture was given so that we may remain anchored together by God’s promise to never leave or forsake us as we continue to face rapid changes, mounting uncertainty and ever evolving challenges.  In St. John 21:15-19, Jesus instructs His chosen vessel to feed my lambs and sheep and to follow me.  Our Pastor has always shown the love, commitment, sacrifice, and obedience required to do those things.  So today, we applaud, celebrate, and honor Pastor and First Lady Bender for their courage and strength in putting forth the vision and structure that has allowed us to be fed and nurtured continually as they follow Christ.

Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?”

CHOSEN

When you are chosen as one of God’s ordained vessels, God equips you to go and tell the lost that whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.  Pastor Bender accepted this commission as a messenger of hope to those that are seeking hope.  With a great woman beside him, Pastor and Lady Bender persevere through many unknowns, trials, and difficulties.  Having accepted the Call from God, they have faith, hope, and understanding.  It is a necessary process when you are chosen by God.

Ephesians 4:11-12 “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:”

USING THE GIFTS GOD GAVE YOU

The Bible lets us know that God calls us for specific jobs and purposes in His Kingdom.  God spiritually prepares and equips us with what is needed for the edification of the Saints and the perfecting of the church.  We, at Faith Apostolic, are blessed to have a pastor that not only yields to God’s calling, but is humble and faithful in ministering God’s Word and will to the people of God.  It is a blessing as well to have both a Pastor and First Lady who use the gifts God has blessed them with to bless others and encourage them in their walk with God.

Hebrews 13:7  “Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.”

SERVING GOD FAITHFULLY

The Lord has blessed us with such a great leader in the person of Suffragan Bishop Michael Bender.  Let us follow Him as He follows Christ.  The Word of God through His leaders and pastors, equips us for the great work of the Kingdom.  When we are obedient to leadership, the Lord will give us an overflow of blessings such as good health, finances, and His peace.  Let us praise God for blessing us with such a great Pastor and First Lady.

Philippians 1:6 “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:”

YOU ARE NOT ALONE

God has chosen you to lead His people He has equipped you with the whole armour of God.  Your wife loves you and supports you.  Just as the people held up Moses’ arms in the battle, Faith Apostolic Church will hold you and Sis. Betty up.  God will never let you down.

CELEBRATING OUR FAITHFUL LEADERS

Psalm 37:23 “ The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”

DESTINED TO LEAD!

God ordered your steps before you were born.  He knew that you would serve under Bishop Johnson in order to be prepared for what was to come.  Imagine if you’d looked at all the hurt, pain, tears, disappointments, setbacks etc., and took your eyes off of God.  YOUR STEPS WERE ORDERED!  Thank you for staying the course!

Joshua 1:7 “Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest.”

BE YE STEADFAST

When God speaks to His Servant, have an ear to hear, have faith, courage, stand on His Word.  Stagger not at His promise.  Set your face like a flint; for He shall bring it to pass.

Hebrews 13:17 “ Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”

THE SHEEP AND THE SHEPHERD

All members of God’s flock are in need of care and direction.  God has graced our leaders with the great task of caring for the sheep.  God’s expectations of us as sheep are to obey and submit to those whom he has placed in authority.  We are to obey and submit with no hidden agenda, for there are many that are obedient only to fulfill their own selfish desires.  If we take this scripture to heart, our spiritual leaders can report to God joyfully on our behalf, and in return God will be glorified that we as sheep are growing in the grace and knowledge of the Savior according to 2 Peter 3:18.

James 1:5 “ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

WISE LEADERS

It has been said that, “great leaders are great followers.” The members of Faith Apostolic Church can assuredly say that we have great leaders because they follow closely after God.  Our Pastor and First Lady strive to live godly lives by asking Him for wisdom.  The Bible teaches us in James 1:5, “If any man lacks wisdom to ask of God who will give to all men liberally.”  Finding direction in life is connected to your ability to trust God’s use of wise leaders.
