Oct 7 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: THE BENEFITS OF BEING SONS OF GOD

Oct 7 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: THE BENEFITS OF BEING SONS OF GOD

I John 3:1Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.”

Now that we have become the sons of God through His love, we have access to His kingdom.  This new life gives us unlimited benefits and brand new mercies that are renewed every morning. “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits” (Psalms 103:2).  May we give thanks to God always for the exceptional grace He has shown us by making us His children.

Oct 6 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: WORDS FITLY SPOKEN

Oct 6 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: WORDS FITLY SPOKEN

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”

“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life”(Proverbs 15:4) bringing purity to the whole body.  As saints, obedience to God is to be followed even to the level of every word we speak.  Our attitudes (whether positive or negative, godly or ungodly) will be displayed in our words, our conversations, our actions.  Oh, “what manner of persons ought we to be in all holy conversation and godliness” as we live before God and sinners (2 Peter 3:11).  Let us use our tongues as “words fitly spoken” to tell of God’s goodness to everyone who are yet in their sins (afflictions) and don’t know Jesus as their Father through the New Birth experience.

Oct 5 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: LOVE IS PEACE

Oct 5 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: LOVE IS PEACE

St. John 15:9 “As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.”

For us to continue in God’s love, we first must comply with His rules.  Love is the greatest thing that our Father has given us, for He HIMSELF is love. GOD tells us through His Word that all souls are to be loved.  We know that we must follow the rules of society and obey the laws of the land, but the higher power is within Jesus and His love.  In our relationship with our Father, we must LOVE everyone as He has instructed.

Oct 4 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD:  FRUIT THAT GLORIFIES GOD

Oct 4 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD:  FRUIT THAT GLORIFIES GOD

St. John 15:8 “Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”

We have faced many obstacles over these past six months.  But, overcoming these obstacles have proven to give God all the glory.  Living through a pandemic has been difficult.  Yet, we as saints still thrive and continue to raise up a Spirit-filled house of prayer that builds the kingdom, wins the lost, and develops the believer to live righteously and victoriously.  Obeying and reading God’s Word (reading 5 to stay alive), praying, and fasting have yielded fruit necessary to bring glory to the Father and to show the world that we are His disciples.

Oct 3 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: I ALONE, AM NOTHING

Oct 3 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: I ALONE, AM NOTHING

St. John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

Without God we are nothing and can be nothing.  We are totally reliant and dependent upon Him. Acknowledgement of this keeps us humble, but at the same time empowers us.  While without God we are nothing, WITH Him we become victors, giant slayers, overcomers, champions, conquerors, empowered, and a reflection of the power of God in this world.  Everything that we are and everything that we will become hinges on being connected to the Vine which is Christ our Lord.

Oct 2 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: THE LIVING TREE

Oct 2 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: THE LIVING TREE

St. John 15:4 “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.”

Jesus is the Tree of Life and without Him we can do nothing!  He went to the Cross and died for all of our sins.  You must accept Jesus Christ into your life by receiving the Holy Ghost.  Jesus is the Tree, I am the branch.  I don’t want to be a dead branch, so I must stay connected to the Tree of life which is Jesus Christ.

Oct 1 ~ THE NEW LIFE SHOULD NEVER GET OLD: KEEP THE NEW LIFE FRESH

Oct 1 ~ KEEP THE NEW LIFE FRESH

Romans 7:6 “But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.”

The new life means that there had to have been another life prior.  The old life had to be done away with because it was counterproductive to who we are now as saints of God.  While the new life is exciting, it remains necessary to cultivate and nurture it that it may thrive even in the harshest conditions.  I admonish you today to keep the new life fresh by digging deeper in God’s Word and growing in your prayer life.  Keep that hunger and thirst after righteousness that will cause men and women to inquire what this new life of holiness, truth, and peace is really all about.

Sept 30 ~ STAYING CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE:  CONNECTED AND PROTECTED BY HIS SPIRIT

Sept 30 ~ STAYING CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE:  CONNECTED AND PROTECTED BY HIS SPIRIT

Romans 8:9 “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

During this coronavirus pandemic, we must stay connected to God by His Spirit.  We must rely on what we have been taught, knowing that this too shall pass.  We have many examples in the Word of God of how the Lord covered the children of Israel in unsettling times.  And just as He did for His children then, He is certainly covering and protecting us now.  Be encouraged to hold on to God’s unchanging hand.

Sept 29 ~ STAYING CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE:  “ABIDE IN ME,” SAYS THE LORD

Sept 29 ~ STAYING CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE:  “ABIDE IN ME,” SAYS THE LORD

James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

The Apostle James writes to the saints of the twelve tribes scattered abroad.  He admonishes them that if any man lacks wisdom to ask God.  Then, James explains why in Chapter 3:17, “But the wisdom that is above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”  He lets us know that this will assure our connection to God and His will for our lives.  Stay connected.

Sept 28 ~ STAYING CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE:  DAILY COMMITMENT

Sept 28 ~ STAYING CONNECTED TO THE POWER SOURCE:  DAILY COMMITMENT

Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

We make choices daily.  Our state of mind determines which direction we are going to take.  Challenging moments really question whether we will choose God’s way or our way.  Choosing God’s way may seem strange to others, but we as saints must remember that we have made a commitment to our Savior, “not my will, but Thy will be done.”  Staying in constant communication with Jesus allows you to know God’s voice and be in His will.
